This year, winter’s chill beckons with the allure of fresh powder, exclusive après-ski experiences, and newly minted luxury offerings in the most glamorous ski destinations worldwide. From Aspen glitz to the timeless sophistication of St. Moritz, here’s a look at what awaits discerning travelers on the slopes this season.

Aspen

Aspen is buzzing with fresh openings, revamped classics, and winter wonders this season. The brand-new Aspen Mountain Clubhouse is generating excitement; it’s a sleek, modern addition where you can take in the scenic mountain views over a cozy après-ski. For accommodations, The St. Regis Aspen Resort has been upgraded with luxury suites and a new spa menu inspired by the high-altitude surroundings, designed to restore and rejuvenate. In terms of the restaurant scene, W Hotel is joining forces with globally renowned chef Eyal Shani, bringing his signature Mediterranean restaurant HaSalon to life through a dining experience that will be open from December 1, 2024 to April 2025. The hotel has also teamed up with Dushan Zarić, the cocktail visionary behind Employees Only, to debut a new bar concept that will serve as a vibrant yet intimate destination for cocktail aficionados.

Big Sky

This majestic Montana mountain has a wealth of new offerings for the 2025 ski season. The Madison 8 chairlift (complete with bubbles and heated seats) is one of the most requested upgrades of the year, featuring a high speed lift servicing of the colder, shaded parts of the mountain, which cuts ride time by 30%. Meanwhile, the new One&Only Ski Lodge, one of the resort's new restaurants, will open this December. The Ski Lodge is accessed by a new gondola that leads from Big Sky Resort Madison Base to the hotel property. The full resort (guest rooms, spa, and other amenities) is scheduled to open in summer 2025.

St. Mortiz

St. Moritz is experiencing a renaissance, introducing fresh attractions and revitalizing classic venues. The newly opened Grace La Margna hotel is bringing modern luxury to a historical site, offering sophisticated dining and a blend of Art Nouveau with contemporary design. Meanwhile, a new wave of fine dining options is taking center stage, with restaurants such as Kulm Country Club introducing seasonal, locally-inspired menus that cater to the modern foodie.

In the arts, the Forum Paracelsus has launched updated exhibits, showcasing regional art and culture, and the newly revitalized Segantini Museum now offers immersive experiences around the famed Swiss painter's works. On the slopes, advanced snow-making technology and expanded après-ski spots, like those at the famous Badrutt's Palace, continue to elevate St. Moritz’s ski scene

Gstaad

Gstaad is unveiling exciting new developments and events this season, making it an even more alluring winter destination. Opening in March 2025, the Ultima Promenade Gstaad offers a luxurious retreat for winter sports enthusiasts and families alike. This high-end private chalet features expansive living spaces with mountain views, an entertainment suite with a cinema and private disco, as well as wellness amenities including a hammam, massage room, and a lap pool. The 2024-25 winter season is also filled with events celebrating Gstaad's vibrant community spirit. Holiday markets in Saanen, musical evenings, and a Christmas concert by Swiss Gospel Singers are just a few highlights on the calendar.

Telluride

Telluride is buzzing with fresh updates this season, combining classic mountain charm with modern luxury. New developments include the opening of The Madeline Hotel & Residences’ "Black Iron Kitchen + Bar," revamped with a refreshed menu that spotlights locally sourced ingredients. Telluride Ski Resort has also added guided heli-skiing options through a partnership with local experts, making deep powder experiences more accessible. In town, High Pie Pizzeria & Tap Room recently expanded its menu, featuring creative takes on pizza, while Telluride Arts opened a new gallery space to showcase local artists' work year-round. Winter enthusiasts will enjoy enhanced snowmaking capabilities on the slopes, which promise longer and more reliable conditions, and there’s a new gondola app offering real-time tracking for the iconic free gondola ride between Telluride and Mountain Village.

Courchevel

The jewel of the French Alps is upping its game with a host of new offerings this season. High-end accommodations have expanded, with prestigious properties like the luxury Airelles Courchevel opening an exclusive, lavish suite collection, complete with private butler service and direct ski-in/ski-out access. The dining scene is also flourishing with new culinary gems like the much-anticipated restaurant by celebrated French chef Pierre Gagnaire, bringing his signature innovative cuisine to the mountains. On the slopes, Courchevel has invested in cutting-edge lift systems, reducing wait times and enhancing access to breathtaking, less-traveled areas. A new wellness complex is set to open, offering everything from cryotherapy to yoga sessions overlooking the stunning alpine vistas.
