Every January, Paris solidifies its status as a global design capital by hosting one of the world's most esteemed trade exhibitions. Paris Design Week, which features both Maison et Objet and Paris Déco Off, transforms the city into an international design hub, welcoming a diverse array of talent—from architects and designers to decorators and culinary artists. The event turns Paris into a designer's paradise, with the historic Saint-Germain-des-Prés district and surrounding neighborhoods opening their boutiques to the public. Visitors can immerse themselves in pop-up experiences, explore innovative installations, attend industry talks, and discover exceptional interior design showcases throughout the city's showrooms.

If you can't make it to Paris Design Week this year, discover the five visionary designers on our radar who are reimagining luxury and design through sustainable practices, groundbreaking innovation, and genius craftsmanship.

Deridre Dyson: London, United Kingdom

British designer Lady Deirdre Dyson's journey into contemporary carpet design began unexpectedly when she couldn't find the right piece for herself. "Everyone was using fitted carpets, and I had been looking for a modern carpet, as I wanted to expose the beautiful flooring of my home," she shares. Her now award-winning carpets are meticulously hand-knotted in Nepal using a blend of pure Tibetan wool and Chinese silk. Her bespoke creations begin as sketches and paintings before transforming into exquisite handcrafted carpets using ancient skill and modern technology. "For this year's collection, I'm playing with color and creating a crossover with silk, giving the illusion of light," Dyson explains.

Studio SPHAER: Vienna, Austria

Studio SPHAER embodies the philosophy that objects live and breathe in their own way. "I want people to leave with a sense of how our designs can transform their spaces, offering warmth, character, and meaning," explains founder Leni Piëch. The Austrian studio views lighting as fundamental to creating inviting environments, and their pieces transcend mere functionality to become defining elements that can capture a room's spirit. "Each pendant is carefully handcrafted using materials like glass, ceramics, and metal," Piëch explains. Making their Paris Design Week debut in 2025 marks a milestone for the studio: "It’s a special opportunity to present Studio SPHAER’s philosophy on a global stage."

Joli Jour: Paris, France

Sisters Aude and Ariene Malbat's French-based brand takes a revolutionary approach to wallpaper design, transforming ordinary walls into works of art. Joli Jour Paris embodies both creativity and consciousness, utilizing vegetable-based inks and recyclable materials while minimizing waste through made-to-order production. "I’ve always sought to unveil the hidden beauty of old-fashioned atmospheres and capture the fleeting emotions they evoke," Aude explains. "Through our wallpapers and textiles, our brand is an invitation to rediscover these forgotten worlds. It’s about finding wonder in the fragility of nature, embracing imperfection, and daring to express creativity." The sisters find particular joy in crafting repeating patterns, and witnessing their designs printed out and brought to life.

Uchronia: Paris, France

Founded by French architect and designer, Julien Sebban, Uchronia takes its name as a reflection of their aesthetic—a multi-disciplinary studio that transforms spaces through an artistic vision. After winning Emerging Interior Designer of the Year in 2023, Uchronia is taking over the l'Hôtel de Sully during Paris Design Week with a surrealist installation that honors traditional French craftsmanship, but also uses unexpected, playful elements. Visit the hotel installation to experience their play with scale, perception, balance, and illusion.

Studio Henry Wilson: Sydney, Australia

The original vision behind Studio Henry Wilson was to focus on handcrafted lighting and furniture. "I wanted to create pieces that were functional, sculptural, and draw inspiration from natural forms and materials," says the designer. The Sydney-based studio crafts pieces made with brass, bronze, and glass. "For me, Paris Design Week is an important part of our calendar, as it's a chance to engage with the northern hemisphere, and get a sense on how our work sits within that context," Wilson shares.
