A Day in the Life of a Chic Dog

Maxine the Fluffy Corgi

Maxine the Fluffy Corgi is a New York City-based corgi also known as “the dog in the backpack.”

One thing I never leave home without: My Little Chonk backpack.

When I want to feel pampered and groomed I go to: Dogma on 7th Avenue. Go see Shiro and tell him Maxine sent you. He’s my glam squad, he’s my groomer, he’s my everything.

When I want to really treat myself I splurge on/indulge in: I call Camélia at Hermès and she closes the store for me.

The best park to make dog friends is: The Garret above Five Guys in the West Village. It’s not a park and you can’t make dog friends there but it’s a great place for an adorable dog (me) to make friends while her Dad enjoys a drink and then maybe a cheeseburger on the way out. 

When I wear this, I feel like a million bucks: My white sunglasses.

A hidden talent that I have: If you put any type of food in front of me I can make it disappear.

One of my most memorable collaborations:  One time, Ed Sheeran emailed me asking to meet him at the Howard Stern show. I didn’t reply to the first email because I wanted to see how badly he wanted to meet me. He sent a follow-up.

To me, being a ‘chic dog’ means: Being original and iconic.

Favorite celebrity I’ve met or a funny memory of me and a celebrity: Charlie Puth in the first class lounge at the airport. What a doll.

Bao the Chihuahua

Bao the Chi is Toronto-based model and style icon with a curated closet most humans would envy.

My morning routine includes: Morning kisses with belly rubs, responding to messages and emails from my online fandom, and then enjoying a Whole Foods meal with a side of homemade bone broth.

The best hotel/spa/restaurant I have ever been to:  This one is really hard. I love them all for different reasons but if I had to pick, I wouldn’t mind going back to Waldorf Astoria Cancun where I enjoyed personalized service, poolside massages, gourmet meals, and beach zoomies.

When I want to feel pampered I go to: A five-star dog friendly hotel where a private cabana is reserved for me with a secluded luxury beach view. I can relax and enjoy a special meal made just for me. 

On a day I want to dress to impress, I usually wear: A collared shirt with a jacket and twilly and top it off with a pair of sunnies.

An item in my wardrobe that I couldn’t live without:  A classic white tee as it can be elevated with any sweater, jacket, and accessory.

A fun fact that no one would expect about my life as a dog influencer:  I am more shy than you think. It takes more time for me to warm up to new friends. 

When prepping for a public appearance or photoshoot I always make sure to: Have my nails trimmed, fur brushed, outfits laid out, and specialty treats packed.

To me, being a ‘chic dog’ means: Being happy and comfortable, at the same time, killing every look rocking stylish fits.

Tiger Blaze

Tiger Blaze is a New York raised, Austin-based, rescue Chihuahua mix who cites Iris Apfel as his style-icon.

A perfect day in Austin usually includes: Starting the day with a healthy brekkie, then heading to Noble Joe coffee truck! How do I take my pup cup, you ask? Straight to the dome. Fully energized, we’ll hit the trail at Lady Bird Lake for 10k doggie steps, followed by a siesta on the terrace at home. We’ll shoot some content, reply to emails, then head to a dog friendly lunch spot like Ski Shores for fish tacos and scenic views of Lake Austin! To cap off the day, a little sunbathing and swim at Barton Springs, followed by dinner and dozing off on the couch in a cuddle puddle, dreaming of another perfect day.

When I feel like being social and meeting other pups, I go to: Neighbors Dog Park & Cafe! Tons of space to run around outside and chase all the big dogs. Just kidding - everyone is my friend! Getting to see owners Lamar and Katie always makes my day.

A fashion icon from the past that inspires me: Iris Apfel, paws down. She embodied fearless self-expression and dressing without rules. A business woman and overall icon, Iris showed the world that fashion has no restrictions or age limit! Her vibrant smile, big glasses and bold jewelry - total perfection. I hope to live an incredible long life full of style, vibrance and impact like the icon herself.

I would describe my personal style as: Cowboy Grandma Clean Girl Core.

An item in my wardrobe that I couldn’t live without: I’d say my cowboy boots, babushka hankies and pearl sunnies.

A destination on my bucket list: St. Barths for a photo shoot with Gray Malin! Universe hear me bark! 

One dog fashion no-no: The Elizabethan Collar. Aka “cone of shame.”

To me, being a ‘chic dog’ means: Defying gender norms. Fashion is about attitude, self-expression, and embracing your uniqueness. Wear what makes you feel beautiful! Celebrate and own who you are.
