Intimate boutique retreats in the Greek Islands and chic pied-à-terres in Paris—this year's most anticipated hotel openings are sure to transform the luxury travel landscape.

Maison Barrière Vendôme: Paris, France

With 26 rooms, suites, and apartments, inspired by inspirational French women like Marie Curie, Charlotte Delbo, and Simone de Beauvoir, the Maison Barrière Vendômee is designed with exceptional French craftsmanship and flair. The luxury boutique hotel opening in January 2025 is situated in the 1st arrondissement in Paris between Place Vendôme and the Tuileries Gardens, inviting guests to experience a one-of-a-kind stay in their Parisian pied-à-terre.

Oberoi Rajgarh Palace: Khajuraho, India

Nestled on the Maniyagarh Hills, the restored 150-year old Rajgarh Palace (once the home of royals) will offer accommodations inside the grand palace. The luxury project by The Oberoi Group is set to open later in 2025. It’s sure to captivate guests with lush forests surrounding the property and its proximity to the Panna National Park and Tiger Reserve, the ideal place to see a Royal Bengal tiger on a private safari.

Waldorf Astoria: San Miguel de Allende, México

The new Hilton property located in the heart of the colonial city of San Miguel de Allende—one of the most popular vacation destinations in recent years—will offer 120 guests rooms and 24 Waldorf Astoria residences. The hotel is scheduled to open its doors in early 2025 and will be adorned by the city's signature cobblestone streets and bright colonial buildings. It will also be just a short walk away from the center plaza that hones the renowned neo-Gothic church, the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel.

Few & Far Luvhondo Lodge: Limpopo, South Africa

If you want to check safari off your bucket list in 2025, check out this stunning luxury lodge in the Soutpansberg mountains opening early this year. The property is surrounded by some of the largest Baobab trees in South Africa and offers breathtaking views of the landscape and wildlife. Guests will have the opportunity to visit the Mapungubwe National park, venture above the treetops in solar-powered cableways, and enjoy farm-to-table dining experiences.

The Duchess: Thirassia, Greece

Perched on the charming village of Manolas on Thirassia, a Greek island famous for its traditional villages and spectacular views of Santorini's caldera, The Duchess captures the soul of this lesser-known isle. Away from Santorini's bustling crowds, yet capturing its dramatic beauty, The Duchess will welcome guests in Spring 2025 to experience an intimate luxury retreat and the genuine warmth of Greek hospitality.

The Twenty Two: New York City

Opening in February 2025 on 16 E. 16th Street, The Twenty Two is set to become New York City's newest luxury hotel, restaurant, and private members club. The property, housed in the historic Margaret Louisa Home, will include 77 rooms, 17 suites, and a rooftop penthouse, along with public and private dining areas curated by acclaimed chefs Mary Attea and Camari Mick.

Four Seasons Hotel and Residences: Cartagena, Colombia

In the artistic neighborhood of Getsemaní, the coastal city of Cartagena will officially open its first Four Seasons property in mid-2025. The hotel, housed within a collection of restored landmarks, will bring to life a blend of colonial romance and modern design, attracting visitors to connect with the Old Town of Cartagena and its lively spirit. With eight restaurants and lounges and a rooftop infinity pool, guests will also be able to participate in exclusive activities including street art workshops, salsa lessons, and private catamaran trips to explore the neighboring Caribbean islands.

Rosewood: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Housed in the former Palace of Justice overlooking the Prinsengracht (the Prince's Canal), Rosewood Amsterdam—opening in June 2025—will be its first property to open in the Netherlands. The hotel, with a close proximity to many of the city's most popular attractions, including the museum district, and the hip De Pijp neighborhood, will pay homage to the special heritage of the city while creating a space that is comfortable and stylish.

The White Elephant: Aspen, Colorado

The beloved property chain has its roots in Nantucket, won hearts in Palm Beach, and soon, Aspen. Whatever your outdoor proclivity, this winter favorite was due for a new host. So after a long day on an old mountain, you can now come back to new incredibly spaced suites and Roman clay-washed walls. If you need a ride to the slopes, this hotel has BMWs on hand.

Laikipia X andBeyond: Suyian, Kenya

Tourism-led conservation has certainly emerged as a predominant force in hospitality in Africa, but andBeyond has always been a leader in that charge. Their new expansion into the Suyian Conservancy in the northwestern region of Laikipia in Kenya is an emblem of that pursuit. Named after an African wild dog in the local language, Suyian will be the sole tented camp property and operator in 44,000 acres of rocks, rivers, and grasslands. Don’t miss the Stone Age-era cave paintings and artifacts, or the architectural brilliance of the lodge.

The Newman: London, UK

The Newman in central London is both understated and eclectic. With 81 art deco-inspired guest rooms, suites, and apartments, every corner of the hotel will reflect the Fitzrovia district’s distinctive character, with quiet nods to the area’s icons such as bohemian queen Nancy Cunard. If you want in without being a guest—check out the brasserie with its separate street entrance. Or if you just want a little Nordic spa therapy, there’s hot and cold cabins and a hydrotherapy pool.

Mandai Rainforest Resort: Singapore 

The newest development by Banyan Tree opening in April 2025 connects visitors to the fascinating wildlife within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, Singapore's wildlife and nature destination that is home to different zoological parks including Bird Paradise, Night Safari, River Wonders, and Singapore Zoo. The 338-room luxury hotel offers stunning views of the Upper Seletar Reservoir Park and promises guests serenity and modern comfort.

OKU Bodrum: Bodrum, Turkey

A stone’s throw away from one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the hotel is nestled on Bodrum’s northern coast. Despite the torrid tales of the Aegean Sea, it offers every beautiful distraction. The retreat opening in summer 2025 is continuous sunsets, private pools, and sea views. The 58 rooms and suites only do equal justice to the much-loved OKU fusion cuisine and wellness rituals.

Casa J.K. Place Roma: Rome, Italy

You go to Rome for Campari spritzes, gelato, and a tidal wave of sculptures and history, but also for some truly majestic hotels. J.K. Place Rome might be newer to the ancient city, but it brings an element of exclusivity that even a local would find enduring. This spring the hotel is opening an exclusive club with 15 apartments on Via dei Prefetti, Casa J.K. Place Roma. It’s an easy walk to the Pantheon or the Trevi Fountain, but when the cobblestones trouble your balance, there’s a full butler service waiting for you.

If you’re looking to go to the ends of the earth, the islands and waters of Indonesia should always be at the top of the list. NIHI Hotels, the brand behind NIHI Sumba, has endeavored on its first expansion in the region. Not that far northwest of Australia, this untouched island was first named by a farmer who accidentally met a lost Portuguese sailor, according to legend.
